Adam Sandler Embraces Family at ‘Happy Gilmore 2’ Premiere: “Working With Them Makes My Heart Feel Good”
New York, NY – July 22, 2025 – Adam Sandler brought his closest co-stars to the Happy Gilmore 2 premiere last night – his family. The 58-year-old comedy legend walked the red carpet at Jazz at Lincoln Center with wife Jackie Sandler, 50, and daughters Sadie, 19, and Sunny, 16, showcasing their signature blend of Hollywood glamour and Sandler’s iconic laid-back style.
A Family Affair On and Off Screen
Sandler, sporting his trademark “Sandlercore” look (a loud patterned shirt, salmon shorts, and sneakers), beamed as he spoke exclusively to PEOPLE about working with his loved ones in the Netflix sequel.
“Love them. Your heart feels good,” Sandler said of collaborating with his family. “You’re pulling for ’em while you’re working with them.”
His wife Jackie, radiant in a Giambattista Valli black gown, has appeared in nearly all of Sandler’s films since they married in 2003. “We have this connection – we lock eyes during scenes, and sometimes it looks weird because we’re falling in love when our characters aren’t supposed to!” he joked.
Daughters Sadie and Sunny, dressed in chic casual wear, also make appearances in Happy Gilmore 2, continuing their acting careers after roles in Sandler’s Leo (2023). “When they nail a scene, it’s like watching your kid hit a home run,” Sandler told E! News earlier this month.
Why ‘Happy Gilmore 2’ After 28 Years?
The sequel to Sandler’s 1996 golf comedy has been a long time coming. “For 28 years, people yelled, ‘Do Happy Gilmore 2!’ and I’d say, ‘No way!’” Sandler admitted on Good Morning America. “Then one day, I thought… maybe.”
Fans can expect the same chaotic energy from Happy Gilmore, now older but no wiser, as he returns to the golf course in the film premiering July 25 on Netflix.
