The global music icon and the Kansas City Chiefs superstar announced they were engaged on August 26th in a joyful Instagram post. According to the source, they are currently focused on celebrating this major life milestone together.
“Taylor and Travis have been in celebration mode ever since the engagement,” the source shared. “They are not in the wedding planning phase yet. Right now they just want to enjoy being engaged and they are going to take their time with it.”
The couple, both 34, is reportedly relieved that their happy news is finally public. “It has been a relief not having to keep it a secret anymore, and they are glad it is out in the open,” the source added.
Their announcement playfully referenced a popular fan nickname for them, writing, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” alongside a series of photos from the proposal.
The magical moment happened two weeks before the public announcement. Travis proposed to Taylor in the backyard of his home, which he had decorated with a stunning and elaborate floral arrangement.
Travis’s father, Ed Kelce, recently shared more details on an Australian radio show. He explained that Travis cleverly suggested a glass of wine on the patio before heading out to dinner. “I think she knew something was up because as they walked out there, she could see, suddenly, there were a lot more flowers out there,” Ed said, calling them “two young people madly in love.”
