Dreka Gates has officially filed to end her marriage to rapper Kevin Gates after nearly nine years together. Court documents obtained by PEOPLE confirm she submitted divorce paperwork on July 30 in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split, Dreka, 38, lists their separation date as July 10. She is requesting:
- Joint legal and physical custody of their two children: daughter Islah (12) and son Khaza (11)
- Spousal support from Kevin (39)
- Payment of her attorney’s fees by Kevin
The couple married in October 2015. Dreka is a successful businesswoman and brand creator.
Amid Brittany Renner’s Spiritual Marriage Revelation:
The divorce filing comes just weeks after fitness model and influencer Brittany Renner, 33, publicly discussed her brief “spiritual marriage” to Kevin Gates earlier this year. Renner, who recently converted to Islam, revealed on LA’s REAL 92.3 radio station on June 7th that the spiritual union lasted only 52 days.

“We got married April 6 and divorced May 28,” Renner stated. She emphasized having no regrets: “I followed my heart… I gave 100 percent.” She reassured listeners, “all is well,” adding, “I don’t feel like it’s a sucky situation because what is meant to be is always going to be.”
Renner is also known for her previous relationship with NBA player P.J. Washington, with whom she shares a 4-year-old child.
The timing shows Dreka filed for divorce less than a month after Renner’s public revelation about the spiritual marriage ending, and just over two months after Renner first mentioned the marriage. The court documents do not cite Renner’s involvement as a reason for the Gates’ divorce.
