Paris Jackson has ended her engagement to music producer Justin Long, clarifying that recent photos showing her crying in Los Angeles were due to heartbreak – not grief over her father Michael Jackson.

The 27-year-old singer confirmed the split in a since-deleted social media post on July 31, 2025. Her statement came after speculation linked emotional photos taken on July 23 to the anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death (June 25, 2009). Jackson directly addressed the rumors: “Those are breakup tears. y’all are fkn reaching again.”
While Jackson didn’t share specific reasons for ending the relationship, she confirmed her tears stemmed from the personal decision. The couple had been together since 2022 and announced their engagement in December 2024. At the time, Jackson called their relationship “an indescribable whirlwind.”
Wedding Plans Halted
Just weeks before the breakup, Jackson had shared wedding details in a June interview, revealing an astrologically chosen date and active preparations. Despite appearing affectionate in tour photos with Long earlier in July, the engagement is now canceled.
Sobriety Milestone Highlighted
In a poignant twist, Jackson marked five years of sobriety in January 2025, openly crediting her recovery for allowing her to fully experience life’s highs and lows. “It’s because I’m sober that I get to smile today… I get to feel heartbreak in all its glory,” she wrote on Instagram, emphasizing her resilience.
The daughter of the late King of Pop continues touring as an opener for bands Incubus and Manchester Orchestra this summer.
